Shares of engineering & construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) gained more than 1 percent intraday Wednesday as its brand L&T Construction won an order worth Rs 864 crore in Qatar.



The power transmission and distribution business of L&T Construction has won a prestigious order in the middle east market from their reputed customer and key stakeholder, Qatar General Electricity & water Corporation KAHRAMAA for its ongoing Qatar Electricity Transmission Network Expansion plan-phase XII.



The order encompasses the engineering, procurement & construction of two substation packages. Before this, the company has won orders worth Rs 1563 crore in both the international and domestic market in July and August 2015.
