Cairn awards oil development project to Baker Hughes
Baker Hughes, a GE company, has bagged a development contract from Vedanta’s upstream subsidiary Cairn Oil & Gas, to construct approximately 300 new wells and deploy a chemical enhanced oil recovery programme aimed at increasing production from Rajasthan.
BHGE will provide an integrated scope of oilfield services and equipment, delivered in phases over the next 24 months to unlock the ‘significant untapped reserves’ at the Mangala, Bhagyamand Aishwariya (MBA) fields.
This includes all associated technology and operations to develop new wells, as well as solutions to enhance production from the existing wells. The project is intended to be delivered in phases, the statement added.
The project is anticipated to begin in the second half of 2018 and continue for three years.
