BHEL, TS GENCO ink MoU to establish thermal power plants

Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS GENCO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) to set up thermal power plants that will produce 6,000 MW of electricity in Telangana, according to the official statement.
As per the agreement signed, BHEL would undertake the project as a nominated EPC contractor within three years, the statement added.
BHEL has executed thermal power projects in Bhupalapally, Singareni Colleries and Kothagudem areas of Telangana, whose performance is above the national average in terms of plant load factor, the release said.
The MoU was signed on Sunday in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
